Mark Leonard trained as an artist until deciding to pursue a career in paintings restoration.  He worked as a restorer at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and then moved to Los Angeles where he spent twenty-six years at The J. Paul Getty Museum.  Beginning in 2009, he returned to working full-time as an independent artist, until, in 2012, he was invited by the Dallas Museum of Art to become the museum’s Chief Conservator.  In 2017 he returned to working full-time as an artist.  Professional résumé.
